چکیده

We use the Gorkov formulation of the Dirac-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approximation to nuclear pairing to study the 1 S 0 nucleon-nucleon correlations in nuclear matter. We find the short-range correlations of the 1 S 0 pairing fields to be almost identical to those of the two-nucleon virtual state. We obtain mutually consistent results for the pairing fields, using several different sets of effective interaction parameters, when we demand that each of these sets places the virtual-state pole at its physical location.

Using the Dirac-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approximation to study nuclear pairing, we have found the short-range correlations of the Dirac 1 S 0 pairing fields to be essentially identical to those of the two-nucleon virtual state at all values of the baryon density. We make use of this fact to develop a relativistic separable potential that correctly describes the pairing fields.

Isospin singlet (pn) pairing and quartetting contribution to the binding energy of nuclei

The structure of nuclei is understood to a large extent within a single-particle approach, the nuclear shell model which was introduced in nuclear theory 50 years ago [1]. Its microscopic foundation should be given from a quantum statistical treatment of the many-nucleon system, where in general also the concept of temperature can be introduced to describe excited nuclei in a dense medium. With...

Contribution of Real and Virtual Pions to Nuclear Photoabsorption at Intermediate Energies

The universal curve σ/A of nuclear photoabsorption is investigated within a Fermi gas model of nuclear matter. An energy range from pion threshold up to 400 MeV is considered. The interactions between nu-cleon, pion, ∆-isobar and photon are considered in the non-relativistic approximation with corrections of the order 1/M taken into account with respect to proton mass. Analytical expressions ar...

We investigate nuclear matter properties in the relativistic Brueckner approach. The in-medium on-shell T-matrix is represented covariantly by five Lorentz invariant amplitudes from which we deduce directly the nucleon self-energy. We discuss the ambiguities of this approach and the failure of previously used covariant representations in reproducing the nucleon self-energies on the Hartree-Fock...

Pairing in nuclear systems: from neutron stars to finite nuclei

We discuss several pairing-related phenomena in nuclear systems, ranging from superfluidity in neutron stars to the gradual breaking of pairs in finite nuclei. We focus on the links between many-body pairing as it evolves from the underlying nucleon-nucleon interaction and the eventual experimental and theoretical manifestations of superfluidity in infinite nuclear matter and of pairing in fini...
